Rays of Sunlight’s beginning and history

In October 2016 my father, Ray, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I cared for him throughout his short illness until he passed away peacefully in July 2017 with his family at his bedside.
​
One of his final wishes was that I go forward and support others in the same way that I had supported and comforted him. Hence, in April 2019 I set up ‘Rays of Sunlight’ in his memory and incorporating his name into the business name.
​
Since starting on the journey, it has become clearer than ever to me that there are many people who experience loneliness and require support to enable them to live a fulfilled life whilst remaining independent in their own home. Often the primary focus on their medical care overshadows their need for social support and help with retaining their independence. This is where we come into our own, working with clients, their families and any appropriate care agencies to promote wellness and self-confidence amongst our clients.
Since we set up business we have experienced rapid growth and the expansion of our client base means we are supporting individuals with a wide range of needs. We now support those living with Dementia, Alzheimers and Parkinsons as well as those just in need of companionship or home help. We have established a network of contacts who we can call upon to provide an ever-expanding array of services to suit the specific needs of all those we support.

We take direct referrals from individuals or family members as well as referrals from health and care organisations such as Altzheimers Society, Dementia UK, social services, Stroke Teams and GPs.
